COMPRESSOR B-22
           WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY A COMPRESSOR?

                    A compressor is a device which can be found in almost all the mechanical devices around us and        has various applications based on the output we want from it. There are plenty types of compressors around us which have wide range of applications to name few are:
  • ROTARY COMPRESSOR
  • RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR
  • DYNAMIC COMPRESSOR
       Dynamic compressors are the ones which have the potential of compressing air to high pressures upto              15MPa or above. Based on the concept of Bernoulli’s Equation where the velocity decreases and the pressure    increases. This concept helps in generating more thrust from the engine, where this compressor plays a major         role.
               Below is a short demo on the designing of this compressor.

             STEPS OF DESIGING

Ø  Choose “SURFACE DESIGN” from the mechanical design toolbar and select the XY-plane and click on SKETCH.

Ø Construct two lines along vertical and horizontal axis of measurements
V = 300mm, H = 400mm.

Ø  From the end of the horizontal line mark a curve in such a way, it looks like a bullet head from side view.

Ø  After marking all the points just adjust and check a few points if they are  not in the right alignment with the curve path.

   Ø  EXTRUDE” the above figure and select the “REVOLVE” icon, revolve the body with respect to the     vertical axis line and select angle 1 = 180, angle 2 = 180.

THE CONSTRUCTION OF BLADES WILL BE POSTED IN THE NEXT POST
